Layer pearlescent shimmer onto holiday projects with festive mica stains
Pearlescent mica particles suspended in translucent color create luminous effects that flat ink can't match. These stains bond to porous surfaces, paper, canvas, fabric, wood, adding dimensional shimmer that catches light as the viewing angle changes. The mica doesn't just sit on top; it integrates with the surface for lasting adhesion that won't rub off during handling.
Layer these stains over Distress Ink or Oxide to shift the color temperature and add depth, or apply them directly onto white or colored cardstock for soft, shimmering backgrounds. The translucent base allows underlying colors and textures to show through while the mica adds that signature pearlescent quality. Apply with brushes, sponges, or directly from the bottle for controlled placement. Each 1-ounce bottle provides substantial coverage for multiple projects.
Six themed sets capture specific holiday moods through carefully coordinated color combinations. Set #1 (Peppermint Stick, Frosted Juniper, Tree Lot) delivers classic red and green with icy accents. Set #2 (Winterberry, Snow Flurries, Holly Branch) leans into berry tones and frosty whites. Set #3 (Fresh Balsam, Tart Cranberry, Winter Frost) balances evergreen depth with bright cranberry. Set #4 (Merry Mint, Cocktail Party, Shiny Bauble) brings sophisticated jewel tones. Set #5 (Juniper Berry, Yuletide, Frozen Fog) offers rich, moody winter shades. Set #6 (Sugary Gumdrop, Wonderland, Frosty Mint) provides playful candy-inspired pastels.
